Floorball ACT would like to invite everyone to come and give floorball a go at this free session!
Floorball (also known as innebandy, salibandy, or unihockey) is a high-speed, low-impact indoor sport. Established in the 1950s in the USA, and then re-developed into an ice hockey training game in Sweden in the 1970s, floorball has spread to over 75 countries, and is a prominent sporting code in Scandanavian and Central European countries.
During this session, Floorball ACT members will provide you with an introduction to the sport of floorball. This will include:
- Equipment overview
- Skills
- Rules of the game
- A scrimmage match
Floorball ACT will be able to provide all necessary equipment - all you will need to bring is:
- Clothes & shoes suitable for indoor sport;
- A drink bottle.
Why should you try floorball? There's plenty of reasons!
- Floorball emphasizes skill over sheer speed or strength;
- Getting started in floorball is cheap - you don't need to buy any special equipment, and most players will only ever buy themselves a stick;
